The NYC PBA provides dental insurance to its members by partnering with Cigna. That means you have access to Cigna’s various low-deductible, flexible dental plans, as well as the company’s expansive network.

To activate your PBA plan (and your benefits), you’ll have to go to myCigna.com or download the myCigna app. From there, you’ll be able to manage and review your dental insurance, like most patients with coverage. Since you’re a member of the PBA, though, you also get the distinct advantage of seeing how many PBA members have seen which dentists.

PBA Dental Plan Coverage Availability & Fees

Ultimately, the amount and type of dental coverage you receive depends on which Cigna plan you choose. Not including bundled or customized insurance policies, Cigna lumps their dental plans into two main categories: low-deductible plans (Cigna Dental Preventive, Cigna Dental 1000, and Cigna Dental 1500) and high annual maximum plans (Cigna Dental 3000/100). Both types offer 100% coverage for checkups and cleanings, and roughly 50% coverage for other dental services. The main difference between Cigna plans is your deductible and benefit maximum.
